"As for me and my family, we will worship the Lord"     Joshua 24:15

Thank you for visiting our "About Us" page and for your interest in Oavio.  Oavio (pronounced o-va-o, with all long vowels) means "A Heart for God".

Oavio came about through much prayer and searching.  We were at a crossroads in our lives and seeking what God would have us do.  He gave us two directives:  First, to spread His Word and secondly, to comfort His people.

"Comfort, comfort My people, says your God."         Isaiah 40:1

We knew people who were struggling, those who had lost loved ones, and others who were hurting and in need of sympathy and comfort.  We also knew that only God could embrace us in our circumstances while offering His peace, love and healing to our brokenness.  One morning He gave us our original Mourning Glory Basket as a way to sow God's Word to those who were crushed in spirit.  We can personally testify to His faithfulness, His provisions and His tenderness in caring for His own.

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up thier wounds."  Psalm 147:3

We began to research what was available to those hurting and in need of comfort.  The usual flower and gift baskets were all pretty but offered very little in the way of true comfort and encouragement.  They let people know that you are thinking of them but do not express how much you really care for and love them.

Our other Morning Glory Baskets grew out of our desire to minister to those who serve or those needing inspiration.  We pray over each individual prayer request and basket before it is mailed. God promises us that His Word will go forth and not return void and that it will accomplish His purposes (Isaiah 55:11).  We are standing on these promises and fill our baskets with His Word.

God has blessed us with a wonderful church family and opportunities of service.  Pat is the unofficial director of encouragement, maintains a card ministry, and has led ladies Bible Studies and classes.  Bruce is the worship leader and currently leads a men's class. We are blessed with two daughters (Heather and Carrie), two sons (Jason and Joshua), one granddaughter (Isabella), two cats, and one dog.  We reside in North Louisiana.

May God bless you as you minister to others and may He receive all glory, honor and praise.

In His love,

Bruce and Pat
